HUF Associate Director, Syed Akbar Hyder, invited famed Pakistan Radio broadcaster Abul Hasan Naghmi to speak to HUF students about the late Urdu poet Josh Malihabadi. The talk, entitled Josh Malihabadi: Devotion and Doubt, was a wonderful exploration of Naghmi’s personal recollections of Malihabadi and his contribution to Urdu literature and culture.

Through his work with Radio Pakistan, Naghmi has become a prominent voice in post-partition Pakistan. He has also worked extensively in Urdu language and literature initiatives in both Pakistan and the United States. His recent work includes the foundation of the US-based Society of Urdu Literature (SOUL).
