HUF student wins two prestigious awards
The Hindi Urdu Flagship is delighted to congratulate its very own Ramu Kharel for his dual accomplishment of winning both the J.J. “Jake” Pickle Citizenship Award and the George H. Mitchell Student Award for Academic Excellence.
HUF students begin new year
HUF faculty and staff welcomed new and returning HUF students with a reception and orientation session on Tuesday, August 23 in the Hindi Urdu Resource Center. After students greeted their peers and welcomed our returning overseas cohort, HUF Director Rupert Snell introduced new faculty and staff to the community and talked briefly about plans and expectations for the coming academic year.
HUF student wins prestigious award for Urdu study
Ramu Kharel, a fourth-year HUF student, has just been awarded the prestigious Majaz Literary Award by the Aligarh University Alumni Association for his accomplishments in Urdu language and literature scholarship as an undergraduate in the Hindi Urdu Flagship program. The award was the result of a large-scale national competition seeking exceptional undergraduate work in Urdu studies.
