Former and current students, colleagues, and friends gathered Friday, April 9 to commemorate the life and career of HUF director Herman van Olphen. Speeches were made by Joel Brereton, Surendra Gambhir, Juliana van Olphen and Arun Prakash. Ishrat Afreen recited a poem she composed for the occasion. Max Bruce provided an on-the-spot translation. Much food was consumed.
