On Tuesday, April 19th, the Hindi Urdu Flagship hosted a talk by famed Pakistani radio broadcaster Abul Hasan Naghmi. The talk, entitled Josh Malihabadi: Devotion and Doubt, was a wonderful exploration of Naghmi’s personal recollections of Malihabadi and his contribution to Urdu literature and culture.
Through his work with Radio Pakistan, Naghmi has become a prominent voice in post-partition Pakistan. He has also worked extensively in Urdu language and literature initiatives in both Pakistan and the United States. His recent work includes the foundation of the US-based Society of Urdu Literature (SOUL).
